This past November I had a
very special vacation with a
friend of mine. We became
good friends thanks to our
favorite entertainer Barry
Manilow. We have seen many
concerts together and this time
we flew out to Las Vegas to
see Barry's show that he
performs out there at the
Las Vegas Hilton. I had never
been to Vegas and was so excited to go. We spent 5 wonderful fun filled days and
at night we saw our favorite entertainer Barry Manilow. For the second nights show
I had purchased a special fan club ticket that would allow me to go backstage before
the show and to meet Barry Manilow. Needless to say I was very nervous about it all,
I had waited almost 35 years to meet the man I admired so much. There were ten of
us that would meet him that night and I was the 3rd spot to meet him. All I can remember
is hearing Barry say hello Barbara and as I walked into the room I shook his hand
and then I just couldn't take my eyes off of him. It was one of those moments that
I will never forget! It was a very fast 5 minutes. But we did talk a few minutes
about dogs and I got to tell him about my doggie daycare and he seemed very impressed.
I told him that he helped inspire me to go after my dreams of creating my own doggie
daycare business he smiled and seemed glad. Before I left he gave me a hug and we
had our picture taken which I will always treasure.
It was truly a dream come true!
